 About Bee Blossom Botanicals

“Above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden
in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”  - Roald Dahl

Bee Blossom Botanicals is a small rural organic Maine farm that produces wild and cultivated plants for aesthetic and medicinal use, mushrooms, garlic, blueberries, elderberries and more, with an apiary of happy bees, a flock of mostly bantam chickens, well-behaved cats, a friendly dog and a cranky parrot. We harvest and use most everything grown here that we can get to. Medicine-making is an ongoing year-round process. We make elderberry cordial, electuaries of various kinds, tinctures, teas, and many natural body care products. Please check out our “Products” page. Deborah also includes flower essences in her work, a gentle and beautiful way to use plants and flowers. See the  “Flower Essences” page for more information.

Deborah’s Old-World grandmother from eastern Europe made her own herbal home remedies and shared them to keep everybody healthy. Bitters being an important part of her medicine bag, we begrudgingly partook of her offerings. Bitters are one big part of keeping our bodies and immune systems humming along—something our ancestors knew, but most of us in the New World have overlooked. These days they can taste pretty good too!

Deborah has studied with many well-respected herbalists over the years and is a graduate of Rosemary Gladstar’s Sage Mountain Herb School’s Advanced Training in Vermont. Deborah’s studies in herbal medicine have also included many tutorials and conferences with other internationally known herbalists. She offers classes and talks throughout the year. One well-known herbalist once said, “It takes about 30 years to become a really good herbalist!” and her 20+ years of working with plants is just about there.
